How did we come up with the concept of Thea's home office?
“I didn’t want to change the decor at home or have my home office scattered here and there”. This is how Alejandro describes the challenge he faced when he started thinking about the design of his home office. How would I organize my space to meet all my work needs without changing my home decor? How could I combine work and home life in a good way? Would it be possible to solve it with just one piece of furniture?

Thea Hemarbetsplats fick en hedersutmärkelse i Interior Design’s 2023 Best of Year Awards i kategorin ‘Residential Desks’.
Interior Design’s Best of Year är designbranschens premiärprisprogram, som hedrar årets mest betydelsefulla arbete samt uppmärksammar designers, arkitekter och tillverkare från hela världen.
Villanytt – Reportage och intervju med Alejandro Rosales Trinchet om Thea Hemarbetsplats
Artikeln “Hela kontoret i en möbel” publicerades i Villanytt den 1 november 2023. Huvudfokus ligger på en lösning för att skapa en funktionell arbetsplats i hemmet utan att den permanent tar upp ett helt rum. Lösningen som presenteras i artikeln är möbeln Thea, som beskrivs som en “kontorsmöbel” och en “elegantare och effektivare lösning” än att offra ett separat rum för arbete.
Huvudpunkter från artikeln:
- Problemet: Många som arbetar hemifrån har svårt att ha en avgränsad arbetsplats, och arbetsmaterial tenderar att spridas ut i hemmet.
- Lösningen: Möbeln Thea, som är en minimalistisk “skulptur” som rymmer en arbetsplats, belysning, hyllor och annan förvaring i en enda möbel.
- Funktionalitet: Tack vare dess L-formade design kan kontoret “försvinna” genom att man helt enkelt stänger skåpdörrarna när arbetsdagen är slut. Då förvandlas den till en möbel som smälter in i hemmet.
- Målgrupp: Artikeln vänder sig till de som vill ha en funktionell arbetsplats som kan integreras i heminredningen på ett estetiskt tilltalande sätt, utan att den syns permanent.
- Kvalitet: Artikeln nämner att möbeln känns kvalitativ och är på en högre nivå än många enklare kontorslösningar som finns på marknaden.
- Designer: Möbeln är designad av Alejandro Rosales Trinchet från designstudion Working On My Own. Han testade en prototyp av möbeln i sin egen lägenhet i augusti 2021 innan han bestämde sig för att utveckla ett större sortiment.
- Erkännande: Möbeln Thea vann utmärkelsen “Best of Year HONOREE” i kategorin Residential Desks av tidningen Interior Design Magazine i New York 2023.
